Sponsored Training.

Companies have partnered with the NESC to provide sponsored training to members of the public in various fence-line communities within Trinidad and Tobago. Workforce Assessments

The NESC's Workforce assessment initiative offers formal certification to skilled but uncertified individuals using the prior learning assessment and recognition. This process involves the assessment of competencies acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning and lead to the award of a trade/occupational and/or professional certification

The system focuses on three main areas:

  • Knowledge
  • Skills
  • Attitude

A gap analysis can be completed for each person assessed leading to ward further training and development.

Regional and International Affairs

The department is responsible for maintaining and strengthening relations with local, regional and international partners and developing strategies with civil society and other agencies in Trinidad and Tobago to advance the NESC’s agenda to improve effectiveness in meeting common goals.

These objectives are realized through joint programmes, participation in annual meetings and exchange of best practices. The NESC has partnered with prominent organizations for short-term and long term projects including collaboration in curriculum development, scholarships, employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
