The Automotive Services Technician Diploma Programme provides persons with the skills to troubleshoot, repair and maintain modern automobiles. Students are taught to identify faulty operations using diagnostic equipment and service manuals. Graduates will possess the skills and knowledge required to diagnose, repair, overhaul or modify a motor vehicle in accordance with production standards required by industry.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of 1640 hours of relevant work experience makes graduates eligible for the NESC Diploma.

Prerequisites:
  • 5 CSEC Passes including Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry or NESC Craftsman Certificate
  • Mature students with appropriate qualifications and experience.
  • Be sixteen (16) years or older.
  • Pass an interview.
  • Pass a Drug Test at their cost.

Registration Fee: $500 (non refundable)

Graduates will receive an NESC Diploma (equivalent to the Trades Professional Qualification, Alberta, Canada).

The following are the primary objectives of the Automotive Service Technician Programme:

  • Diagnose, repair, overhaul or modify a motor vehicle and maintain skills and knowledge gained through training and experience.
  • Comprehend work orders, technical bulletins and estimates, and relate the information to the job at hand.
  • Interpret warranty policy in terms of service reports, component failures and analysis records.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with production standards required by industry.
