Instrumentation Diploma

The Instrumentation Diploma Programme teaches students to install, maintain and repair the measuring and control instruments used in industrial and commercial processing. Students are exposed to variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature levels, motion etc.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of 1640 hours of relevant work experience makes graduates eligible for the NESC Diploma.

Prerequisites:
  • 5 CSEC Passes including Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry or NESC Craftsman Certificate
  • Mature students with appropriate qualifications and experience.
  • Be sixteen (16) years or older.
  • Pass an interview.
  • Pass a Drug Test at their cost.

Registration Fee: $500 (non refundable)

Graduates will receive an NESC Diploma (equivalent to the Trades Professional Qualification, Alberta, Canada).

The following are the primary objectives of the Instrumentation Technician Programme:

  • Have a thorough knowledge of precision measurement and calibration.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of basic AC and DC electrical components and circuits in order to do adjustments and repairs of electronic equipment.
  • Be familiar with the technologies of Electronics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Mechanics and Chemistry.
  • Master the basic knowledge for the repair, fabrication and assembly of electronic and mechanical assemblies; with complete ability in making pneumatic, hydraulic and process joints and seals.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with production standards required by industry.
